Data Sets on Wikirate

Learn how to explore, donate, or create a dataset on Wikirate.

Data Sets are a valuable feature on Wikirate, enabling you to efficiently organize information by grouping together Companies and Metrics associated with a particular Topic or theme, such as Gender Equality in the Workplace.

On the platform, you can seamlessly explore and access the data gathered within specific datasets.

Moreover, you have the opportunity to contribute a dataset to Wikirate. This means that data you have researched or compiled can be shared with others under a CC license, making it accessible for wider use.

Additionally, you can create a new data set to initiate a fresh data collection project. For example, if you wish to examine the practices of 10 specific companies, you can create a new data set and include these companies, along with defining the specific metrics to be investigated.

For more detailed instructions on exploring, donating, or creating a dataset on Wikirate, please refer to the following sections.

Create a Data Set

Creating a Data Set is the initial step in launching a data collection project.

  1. Navigate to New Data Set.
  2. Provide a meaningful Name for your Data Set, as it aids in structuring your Research Project.
  3. Optionally, include an image for identification purposes, such as your organization's logo or a relevant image related to the topic.
  4. If your Data Set contributes to a larger dataset, you can specify the Parent Data Set.
  5. Optionally, select a Topic for your Data Set.
  6. Choose the years you wish to investigate, whether it's one or multiple, or leave it blank for unrestricted research.
  7. Select the Companies you intend to include in your data collection.
  8. Choose the Metrics you want to incorporate into your data collection.
  9. Under Description, describe the objectives and goals of your project, and feel free to add links to supporting or instructional materials.
  10. Click "Submit" to create your Data Set.

Note: To commence data collection, it's essential to link the Data Set to a new Research Project. Refer to our Research Projects Guide on how to complete this crucial step.
